“Screen Blaze” is a VJ performance revolving around the climate crisis and our role as observers through digital media. This project explores the visual landscape of the climate crisis we consume regularly and looks to deliver a call to action to continue learning, to become more aware of our current environmental situation, and to cement the notion that each individual has the agency to make the positive impact we need.

Francisco Crespi is an Argentinean-born, Barcelona-based VJ and visual artist performing under the name Crespivis. I participate in the local electronic music scene through collaborations with events and collectives like EclipseLunar, SubRadio, and the Visual Brasil festival. I believe that a well-curated interplay between music and video takes the dancefloor experience to the next level. My VJ style is rhythm-based, and I feature 3D shapes, abstract textures, and dynamic camera movements, with high contrasts between dark scenes and bright colors, all of which I design and render myself tailoring to each show. I'm inspired by the digital, synthetic, glowing, impossible materials that live exclusively on our screens, and I think about global warming a lot.
